No way are the Hawks making that sort of offer for Weber. I know you're just throwing in out there, but Keith or Seabrook make far too much, and are too good to be a second pairing defenseman. I'd rather they spend on a center.

With Weber 1 year from Free Agency, the Preds would be hard pressed to get a Jordan Staal like package (note, the Canes at least knew Jordan was going to sign in Carolina), something that would not be a guarantee in a Shea Weber Trade

Only way I can see the Preds NOT matching an offer sheet for Weber, is if somebody offers him the maximum $14M on a 1 year deal

That is by far the worst trade offer I have ever seen, no one wants luongo or his contract, plus nashville already has rinne. ballard sucks and raymond once again nobody would really want.

Trade Weber to Columbus for Nash, Johnson and two #1s. Then sign Kubina to a 1 yr contracts. Your d-lines next year has Gill, Kubina, Klein, Ellis, Josi and Johnson. Pair Gill and Kubina on the shutdown line, and Johnson and Eliis on the powerplay.

I agree with Shea Weber getting traded.. and it seemed like a possibility! but if that does happen.. one concern will be does Shea Weber have a list of teams thats he wants to sign with? i am pretty sure he does.. but just incase he does't.. i would love to see Edmonton throwing a crazy offer.. they do have the prospects and depth to pull it off.. Nick Schultz and Jeff Petry, Magnus Paajarvi, Gagner, Hemsky, Klefbom.. combination of these players and picks.. or even trade Yakupov.. as he has yet to play a game for the Oilers and is more like of the Oilers top 4 to get traded!

You sign Sutter and have him convince Parise to sign with the team then Weber signs. They have the cap space to get Suter and Parise this off season and can do the deal with Weber in the next year. Super Goaly check, best D combo n the league check, one of the top 5 forwards in the game check, as well as Hal Gill, Gaustad, Erat, and a slew of young guys getting better. In est, Poile, the owners said they are will to spend to the cap, make the most of it, now is the time...because if you blow it and Sutter and Weber both get away without a major return...you're toast.

The money is insane. But theyre cap hits arent going to 12mil. Its possible that Nashville keeps them both. I sure hope they keep them both. They have some money to play with. If they were to keep them both they should move a Legwand for something to create cap for a scoring winger or a younger C. If they cant keep them they need to move Weber now since they could get a huge return. Its just a damn that they keep losing Dman for nothing. Suter and Hamhuis both.
